Gay Marriage In Oregon

Well, if you've been paying attention to the news, you're aware that Multnomah county will start issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples today. There is, if I recall correctly, a three day waiting period. After that, I expect there to be a ton of weddings.

As I'm a minister who's registered with the state of Oregon to perform weddings, I've decided I want to help out. I'm trying to call the Assessment and Taxation offices of Multnomah county (since they issue marriage licenses) and see if I can volunteer my services to officiate at ceremonies. I'll let you know if I'm successful.

Hey! I had the same thought! Please let me know what you find out. I want to come up there with a friend of mine who can also marry people and perform weddings all day.
Yeah, they might need your services. It was line of happy couples around the multnomah county office building on Hawthorne when I rode past on the bus.

That's great!
In SF they had such a shortage of officiates that they began "deputizing" recently married couples so that they could help out.
Now I wanna be a minister.
I'm ordained but haven't a clue where the certificate is. Think that would matter?
