I have an interview next Thursday for a job that seems to fit my skills perfectly. The job, however, is in Vermont. That's a bit further of a commute than I intended.
I've been studying Java like mad so I can apply for juicy Java jobs. So far this weekend, I've worked through about 260 pages of a Java book. At one point, I realized that I didn't like an aspect of their object system so I started writing some Perl code to automatically create subclasses of Swing to allow "chained mutators". Then I looked out the window and saw all of the people frolicking in the sun. I shut down my editor, pushed my chair back and left.
Then I realized I still needed a job and headed back inside and hit the books again. Drat.
