For the Birds

So you may have already heard about the bird/domino story in the Netherlands. Seems a crew was setting up for a world record domino toppling event. Over four million dominoes, more than 100 people, 12 countries represented and a month spent arranging the damned things. Then a sparrow flew in the window. It couldn't find its way out and managed to knock over 23,000 of the dominoes in the process. Apparently someone with an air rifle finally shot and killed the poor thing.

End of story, right? Wrong. It seems this was no ordinary sparrow. It was a "common house sparrow" which, despite its name, is on an endangered species list. Now people are calling for the man with the rifle to be prosecuted. Worse, he's allegedly receiving death threats and the event has had to hire extra security.

Pulease
I'm all for protecting endangered species but even I would probably have shot the damn bird. I would try a net first but pulease. Those people for whatever reason went to a lot of work to set up those dominoes. If I just stepped on some toes, oh well. I'm very good at that. Just ask my bro.
Things would have been fine, except for that coconut it was carrying. I think that's what hit the dominoes.
