Gore TV

No, not violent TV. I'm talkin' Al Gore here. After Gore won the popular vote in 2000 and then lost Florida under curious circumstances and finally watched the Supremes throw the presidency to the idiot king, Gore dropped out of sight for a while. When he came back, he was a sharp critic of the Democratic party and, I thought, started to look really interesting. Before, I was lukewarm about him. Lately, he started to actually have feelings and show some passion. Somehow, the stick in his bum had gotten dislodged.

This is why I was excited to hear about Al Gore backing a new TV network. Then I read this quote from him:

We are about empowering this generation of young people in their 20s, the 18 to 34 population, to engage in a dialogue of democracy and to tell their stories about what's going in their lives in the dominant media of our time.

Empowering? Engaging in dialogue?

Right. Gore's back. New stick, too.

When you listen to him talk outside of a presidential campaign, the man is brilliant. He's given some incredibly good speeches lately, I think he's just not a smooth enough politician (read: bad at bullshit) to handle public office very well. I really hope he can find something that will utilize his talents and allow him to keep getting a message out to the American people.
I have always been a strong supporter :) It is good to see him around more and more these days.
That is an interesting icon. Do you have a bigger picture of it?
Yes, I do. circle23 invited me over for a photo shoot and I'm flabbergasted that he managed to make even me look good. I've been meaning to resize the photos to something "web friendly" and post them.
I find Gore loathsome. He is spineless and two-faced. He had an opportunity to be a vocal, public catalyst to reveal the perpetrators of one of the most heinous assaults of our democracy, that of the swindling of the 2000 elections. He chose to nurture the health of his political career over that of the health of the nation and its democratic underpinnings. I find him partially to blame for the corrupt devil idiot ass-monkey that shits in the White House today. I will never, ever forgive him for that. This bit of news is just more classic Gore.

Kick-ass icon, btw.
