Friend in Iraq

For any Portland folk: I have a friend working in Iraq for Kellog, Brown, and Root (a subsidiary of Halliburton) who could use some help. He wound up being laid off from his job in Texas and this was the only decent paying work he could find (he's maintains their computer systems. He's not a merc.)

Admittedly, though some may not be too excited to help someone who voluntarily went over there (and yes, he's pretty conservative), he's still a friend. While he's doing reasonably well, there are a lot of basic supplies that are hard to come by over there. If there's anyone reading this who would like to help me send a care package for him and his buddies, please let me know and leave me a way of contacting you outside of LJ (if I don't already have it.)
i can pitch in a little to help!

oh, and what'cha think about saturday for the bigcomedybonanza?
Cool! That's sounds awesome.

And Saturday works for me. This time I should call the theater and make sure I can actually get tickets :)
I was torn between the two responses I was going to make:

I was going to touch your watermelon whether you wanted me to or not.

Versus:

Do I really have to touch your watermelon again? It makes me feel funny when I do that.

But I couldn't decide which one was creepier.
OK, reservations for me and my watermelon, er, tomato, er lovely friend ntnrmlgirl made for Saturday. We have to be there by 10:15 PM so it would be great if you could be at my place by 9:00.

AM.
