Mechanical

Hungry, so hungry ...

You know, I really, really want to go to lunch today. However, my internet radio is set on a classic 80s station and they keep playing great songs. Hell, when was the last time you listed to Wall of Voodoo's "Mexican Radio"?

Regrettably, my goth/industrial cred will be shot to hell if anyone finds out that I'm actually enjoying Genesis' "Abacab".
  • Current Mood: bouncy bouncy
  • Current Music: Genesis | Abacab
dude, that is one of my favorite Genesis songs ever.

I hope you're enjoying the album version (the 8+ minutes), and not the watered-dwn 4-minute single edit version!
Nope, it was the four minute version. On the other hand, they do play a lot of Duran Duran. I always think of you :)
Just now, but that's because I didn't remember what the damn song sounded like.

...I miss pandora (IP-blocked outside US since May).
I'm checking that out now.

What do you mean that the IP is blocked outside US? I'm listening to it now. Thanks for the link!
For me, their front page says:

Dear Pandora Visitor,

We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for most listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative.

We believe that you are in Canada (your IP address appears to be 216.58.12.179). If you believe we have made a mistake, we apologize and ask that you please contact us at pandora-support@pandora.com

If you are a paid subscriber, please contact us at pandora-support@pandora.com and we will issue a pro-rated refund to the credit card you used to sign up. If you have been using Pandora, we will keep a record of your existing stations and bookmarked artists and songs, so that when we are able to launch in your country, they will be waiting for you.

We will be notifying listeners as licensing agreements are established in individual countries. If you would like to be notified by email when Pandora is available in your country, please enter your email address below. The pace of global licensing is hard to predict, but we have the ultimate goal of being able to offer our service everywhere.

We share your disappointment and greatly appreciate your understanding.

Sincerely,

Tim Westergen

Glad to turn you on to Pandora- I discovered half a dozen electronica bands I like, and some great 80s remixes. It gets repetitive quickly, but for me that didn't matter so much since I liked the tunes. :)

I'm glad to hear they've got rights-exchanges with the UK; maybe that means Canada's on the way as well. Though, I doubt it, because we have more rights than USians regarding music-sharing. :-P
Don't worry about your Goth/industrial cred. That went out the window with your first 'non depressing' LJ-post... :-)

Besides, the only reason I can leave my iPod on the desk is that the display is broken, so no one can see that I have EVERY SINGLE Eartha Kitt song, tons of ABBA, The Everly Brothers, and... *gasp* La Bamba...
honesty always trumps peer approval, in my book ;-)

I've been on a Moby kick for some reason lately, myself....queer
